Axcis Education are working with a SEND school in Skipton who are searching for a teaching assistant to join their team on a supply basis. This would be a full time position, working Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm until the end of the academic year. There is potential for a permanent position for the right applicant. The children have challenging behaviour and need learning support to ensure they’re able to maintain the academic places. The school are looking for a teaching assistant who can form positive relationships with the students, who can work closely with them to bring them back up to speed and help manage their behaviour in the classroom. The role is based in a large secondary school in Calderdale. There are good facilities onsite, and a supportive teaching and learning support team to help any starters settle in. There are excellent public transport links within walking distance of the school and a car park onsite. To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working with children with challenging behaviour in some form - ideally in a school setting. Previous school based experience would be preferred but is not essential, provided you have the relevant experience. You will require an enhanced DBS on the update service for this position.
