In this role, you will support the Responsible Individual in creating an environment where each child can thrive and reach their full potential while ensuring that children and young people are actively involved in all decision-making processes. Residential childcare work often involves unpredictable and varied tasks and responsibilities. Lead, manage, and develop a diverse residential care team to deliver exceptional outcomes while maintaining workforce safety. Ensure compliance with The Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015, associated regulations, Childrens Homes National Minimum Standards, and any recommendations outlined by Ofsted. Provide management oversight of all aspects of work in the home, including direct work with young people. Develop and maintain a culture, routines, practice, and environment in line with the organisations philosophy. Link closely with the Head of Care/Senior Management and other departmental leads to ensure joined-up thinking within the organisation. Ensure all children and young people have key work sessions and that external networks are informed of developments as necessary. Protect children from internal and external threats to their well-being, offering additional support during times of crisis or stress. Encourage young people to take responsibility for their lives, involving them in decisions that affect their future. Ensure staff supervision, training, and professional development, equipping them with the skills to provide for the childrens needs. Manage staff deployment, taking into account statutory leave, sickness, and absence. Oversee admissions and discharges in close coordination with Senior Management.
