£29,870 pa Full time – office based 40 hours per week - 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday Who are Pickerings Pickerings is a leading supplier of high-quality temporary buildings. We design and supply solutions to a diverse customer base, including schools needing extra classrooms, commercial businesses needing additional office space and construction sites needing a complex of offices and welfare facilities. The Role As Transport Administrator you’ll be part of our office team based at our depot in Totton, Southampton, where your primary role will be optimising transport plans. The depot operates four lorry loaders and a 4x4, for delivering towable welfare units. Additionally, the depot has three vans, used primarily for attending customer sites to undertake repairs. You’ll ensure all transport moves are planned to ensure timely delivery and collection of our buildings and breakdowns are attended to timely. When planning delivery routes, you’ll ensure all associated administration is completed accurately and timely to maintain compliance. You’ll also maintain accurate electronic and paper records of transport activities and provide reports as needed. You’ll build and maintain strong customer relationships, undertaking timely communication by telephone and e-mail to plan deliveries, schedule repairs and gather post installation feedback. You’ll also place orders for consumables, materials and vehicle repairs along with providing support to the office team with generating quotations for customers. The Company plans to relocate the depot to Alton in Hampshire in the next 18 to 24 months and therefore expects applicants to be able to commute to this location. About You You’ll be an experienced transport administrator, with demonstrable capability of route planning and maintaining transport operation records. You will be able to communicate effectively and professionally over the telephone and in e-mails, with customers, depot colleagues and head office functions. You will also need to be computer literate as you’ll need to become a proficient user of our in-house systems.
