Our client is looking to recruit a Mechanical, Electrical or Construction biased Project Manager to plan, control and coordinate multiple M&E installation, refurbishment and Building/Engineering projects across a large scale estate in Glasgow. Upon completion, other projects and sites will be available with options across Scotland.
The role is a Permanent position paying £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience level. The position requires 40 hours per week and offers a car or car allowance (£3,500 - £5,000 depending on banded level), an EV car scheme, 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays, company pension, health options, and an Ownership Trust Scheme.
The role will require close collaboration with numerous stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including but not limited to the following: designers (both internal and external), architects, estimating department, key account leads, project commercial teams (both in-house and client-side), sub-contractors, manufacturers and specialist suppliers, client agents, commissioning teams, and high-profile customers. The candidate will be a key contributor from conception through the design stages, managing the delivery and ensuring that each project is successfully handed over and closed out in a professional manner to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Proven track record of delivering Fit-Out & MEP Projects to an extremely high standard.
2. Possessing a professional demeanor, client-facing, with a keen focus on customer care in all instances.
3. Confident and effective communication, ability to chair meetings, driving outcomes, ensuring the production of accurate records of discussions, actions, and deadlines.
4. Ability to fully understand the client requirement, technical specifications, drawings, and project requirements holistically.
5. Experience in project commissioning stages.
6. Good understanding of design and project risks. Identify, manage and escalate risks where necessary.
7. Be able to contribute and manage against the sequence of works for the project programme.
8. Ability to drive the project programme, ensuring key milestones are maintained. Ability to foresee potential points of failure and react accordingly.
9. Prepare and present regular progress reports including programme drop lines to project stakeholders.
10. Familiarity with producing onsite dilapidations and completion of validations.
11. Understanding the importance of the development and submission of RFI's, TQ's and driving close out of items raised.
12. Familiar with Technical Submission procedures and sign off.
13. Ability to make sound business decisions under pressure.
14. Excellent time management, ability to delegate, prioritise key tasks and workload when working to strict deadlines.
15. Good understanding of project governance and the requirement for procedural conformity.
16. Commercially astute, sound awareness of the contract terms ensuring adherence.
17. Highly adept at the coordination of work packages, understanding the interaction of trades and the ability to foresee potential issues.
18. Lead by example, promote the highest of standards with regards to HSEQ best practice, ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, ISO accreditations and legislative requirements in all instances.
Requirements:
1. Experience of Project Management within building services and/or construction sectors.
2. Ideally knowledge/experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or construction/civil works within occupied sites.
3. Experience of working on major projects in prestigious facilities.
4. Experience of delivering MEP's and fit-outs.
5. Experience of RFI's, TQ's and driving close out of items raised.
6. H&S skilled and training with the relevant site qualification.
7. Excellent man-management skills.
8. Experience of sub-contractor oversight on site.
9. An innovative and creative thinker with a high level of enthusiasm, ambition and professionalism.
10. Valid driving license.
11. Able to clear DBS checks.
