The Domestic Assistant is part of the care team and as such works with other staff and maintains a clean and safe environment for all Service Users and staff.

Main duties:
* Promote the Company Mission Statement at all times.
* Ensure the Home’s furniture, furnishings and fittings are sufficiently clean.
* Ensure all surfaces of floors, walls and ceilings are sufficiently clean.
* Clean carpets when necessary.
* Empty wastebaskets and yellow/black bins daily ensuring that waste is disposed of safely in line with the requirements.
* Clean all internal windows monthly.
* Clean all bedrooms thoroughly once a week on a rota basis. Ensure that the communal areas are cleaned daily.
* Ensure all sinks, en-suites, bathrooms and toilets are cleaned daily.
* Chemicals must be stored in line with the COSHH requirements.
* Re-stock paper products and dispensers.

Professional
* Have an understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008
Experience
* Able to demonstrate an ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels
* Genuine interest in working in a social care environment.

Glennie House Care Home
Situated in the rural village of Auchinleck in East Ayrshire, Glennie House is a purpose built 52 bedded care home which offers specialist nursing, residential and dementia care. The home also offers respite stays on a long term and short term basis to give home carers a much-needed break. Facilities at home include en-suite bedrooms, spacious lounges, an on-site hair salon, attractive grounds with secure residents’ garden and a guest room which relatives can reserve for overnight stays. Wheelchair access is available throughout. A restaurant standard kitchen provides freshly prepared meals tailored to the residents’ preferences and needs. Care manager Jill Veitch is an experienced manager and is qualified as a general nurse. The home offers excellent training and support to the care team to allow them to take care of the varied needs of residents, from specialist support to general assistance with everyday activities, while also respecting the residents’ need to live independent and dignified lives. The home also offers training, information and support to the relatives of residents to help them better understand the treatment and care requirements of their loved-one. The home benefits from having built good relationships with the local council, GPs, physiotherapists, district nurses, social workers and other visiting healthcare professionals. The Activities Coordinators at Glennie House provide a full programme of activities, entertainment and events for residents to choose from. The home maintains strong community links and access to a mini bus means that residents can enjoy day trips out.
