Exciting Opportunity for a Sports Coach and Teaching Assistant in Everton A highly regarded primary school in the Everton area is seeking a talented and versatile support assistant for a unique part-time role combining the responsibilities of a sports coach and teaching assistant. This individual will play a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with pupils and supporting their academic and social development. The Headteacher is keen to introduce this new full-time position, specifically designed to assist children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who require additional support. As the appointed support assistant, you will work between 25 and 32 hours per week, balancing your responsibilities between sports coaching and pastoral mentoring. Your role will primarily involve providing tailored support, either on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, to children who experience challenges integrating into mainstream education due to various special educational needs. A key aspect of this role is to enhance pupils’ social skills and confidence through engaging sports activities. You will also be responsible for delivering high-quality PE sessions and organising sports activities during break and lunchtime. Initially, this role will be offered on a temporary basis through Teaching Personnel, with a start date scheduled for April 2025.
