About the role Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Highway Maintenance Operative to join our regional team based in Dalston, Carlisle and maintaining roads within north and west Cumbria. What you'll be doing As a Highway Maintenance Operative, you will: Provide winter maintenance, including participating in a shift system and winter standby rota. Be responsible for traffic management. Participate in emergency response on a rostered basis. Complete civil works e.g. Carriageway patching, drainage and fencing repairs. Complete cyclic works e.g. Sign cleaning, gully cleaning and grass cutting. Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with CDM. Who we're looking for You will: Hold a Class 1 or 2 LGV licence. Have knowledge and awareness of health & safety procedures and standards. Be in receipt or working towards Driver CPC qualification. Hold a CSCS card. RTM Operative (T1/T2). CDM Awareness. Additional: Cat Scanner. NRSWA Operative. SMSTS or SSSTS. Telehandler. CPCS Mini Digger. CPCS Dumper. CPCS Slinger/Signaller.
