Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Manager to lead our logistics team at our Preston site. The role involves ensuring the efficient, safe, and legally compliant operation of the company’s transport activities, managing a team of nine.
Key Responsibilities
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all vehicles comply with UK transport laws and regulations, and stay updated on legal changes.
* Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, and certifications.
* Driver Management: Recruit, train, and supervise drivers, ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations.
* Operational Efficiency: Develop strategies to optimize delivery schedules, reduce costs, and improve service.
* Health and Safety: Maintain safety standards, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
* Reporting and Budgeting: Monitor department performance, manage budgets, and ensure cost-efficiency.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Transport Manager experience with CPC qualification
* Full UK driving license
* Experience in route planning and cost control
* Excellent organizational skills
* Strong health and safety knowledge
* People management experience
