DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Skilled Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Kaizen department in Daventry, United Kingdom.
This is a permanent contract working Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Gather, compile and analyse all relevant data for projects internally and externally using continuous improvement techniques.
* Lead and guide cross functional project teams using structured and documented methodology.
* Carry out risk assessments and ergonomic studies as part of all project solutions.
* Ability to use collected data to present project proposals to cross functional groups including senior management.
* Support continuous improvement training and mentoring for other departments and apprentices.
* Design and manufacture of equipment in all aspects of machining, fabricating and welding.
* Design and manufacture of lifting equipment, jigs, and basic fixturing.
* Installation of various types of crane systems.
* Installation, repair and inspection of racking systems.
* Use of forklift trucks and mobile access equipment.
* Carry out welding repairs when and where required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Engineering experience, preferably in a Manufacturing/Assembly environment.
* Workshop skills for welding and fabrication.
* Basic Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing practices and techniques.
* PC Skills including Excel, Word and Power Point.
* Data Gathering & Analysis.
* Interpersonal Skills & Good Communication essential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
* Welding qualification desirable.
* Engineering apprenticeship desirable.
* Computer competence preferable.
* Fork truck driver's license preferable.
* Good level of numeracy and literacy.
