Who You Are Qualified to at least HND/HNC level in Building Construction and/or Surveying or equivalent. Experience in residential building/surveying with knowledge in building industry, surveying practices, adaptations, and maintenance. Proficient in creating detailed specifications using CAD programs and experience in contract administration. Knowledgeable about housing renewal legislation and delivering DFG and renovation type grants/loans. Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to organize and prioritize effectively. Proficient in IT/Computer skills including everyday usage of Microsoft systems. What the Job Involves Support the Principal Housing Improvement Officer in delivering efficient Home Improvement Services. Assess adaptation requirements, conduct design work, and manage work delivery to a high standard. Oversee all technical aspects of housing grants/loans and provide client service from inquiry to completion. Inspect properties to meet housing standards and prepare detailed work plans. Maintain a Register of Preferred Contractors and monitor the quality of workmanship. Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and partners to design and oversee housing adaptations. Manage contractor relationships with a focus on performance, quality control, and financial efficiency. Conduct inspections, handle unforeseen work assessments, and certify final accounts. Update records, monitor progress, and participate in development of performance targets and reports. Adhere to building regulations, participate in meetings, staff reviews, and assist in service development. Attend occasional evening meetings and hold a current driving license for job-related travel.
