Band 5 – Statutory Accountant
Position Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific offers an excellent opportunity for an individual to join the External Reporting Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding Global Business Service Centre, which provides great career development and opportunities. The successful candidate will be a key team member working alongside a colleague to ensure accurate reporting.
What will you do?
* Preparation of statutory financial statements for multiple global legal entities
* Support the completion of statutory audits reported through the Centre of Excellence team, ensuring adherence to reporting timelines
* Complete and coordinate local statistical reporting requirements set by authorities
* Prepare annual board packs and report financial performance to stakeholders
* Engage with external advisers to ensure timely completion, review, and filing of corporate tax returns
* Work cross-functionally with other finance and non-finance teams both on-site and remotely
Who we are looking for:
* Part-qualified professional (e.g., pursuing a relevant qualification)
* A passionate, committed individual with a desire to succeed; highly motivated and detail-oriented with excellent communication, stakeholder management, computer, and organizational skills
* Someone who thrives working with others to find innovative solutions
* Experience in a large-scale organization is beneficial
* Experience in statutory reporting, management accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Exposure to tax returns and year-end reporting is advantageous
* Ability to prioritize and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment
* Ability to work well under time constraints
* Proficient in MS Excel
* Working knowledge of ERPs (E1, SAP, etc.) is desirable but not essential
