Job Title: Building Surveyor - Rail\n\nType: Contract (12 months)\n\nLocation: Manchester\n\nRate: Flexible depending on experience \n\nJob Reference: BMBUILDSURV\n\nAbout the Role\n\nI am seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to support the delivery of property inspections and asset condition reporting across a diverse portfolio.\n\nThis role plays a critical part in shaping long-term maintenance and renewal strategies, ensuring that assets are safe, compliant, and well-maintained within budgetary constraints.\n\nCovering the northern corridor from Crewe to Carlisle, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of stations, depots, and lineside buildings.\n\nWhile the base office is in Manchester, regular travel across Cumbria is essential and so a vehicle and fuel card will be provided.\n\nIf you're looking to join a dynamic and evolving sector while expanding your professional expertise, this opportunity offers exposure to a wide range of building types and asset management challenges.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCarry out annual property inspections and assessments.\n\nReport on the condition of various railway assets, including operational and non-operational buildings.\n\nSupport the development of asset management strategies.\n\nContribute to maintenance planning aligned with safety regulations and budget considerations.\n\nWork collaboratively with surveyors and engineering teams.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\nDegree in Building Surveying or an equivalent recognised qualification.\n\nMembership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB).\n\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills.\n\nFull UK Driving Licence.\n\nMandatory Safety Competencies\n\nPTS\n\nACDC (Alternating Current/Direct Current Electrical Systems)\n\nWorking at Height (Must be willing to obtain if not already held)\n\nTo discuss in more detail please call Billy Mitchell at Advance TRS, or apply directly.\n\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
