About the SEMH Teaching Assistant Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be a vital part of our classroom team, providing support to primary school children experiencing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help create a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels valued, safe, and supported.
Key Responsibilities of a SEMH Teaching Assistant:
Support Children's Mental Health: Work with students individually and in small groups to help them manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop coping strategies.
Classroom Assistance: Provide general classroom support to ensure an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students.
Collaborative Approach: Work alongside teachers and SENCo to tailor learning strategies and activities to the specific needs of children with SEMH difficulties.
