General Maintenance Assistant
Full Time: 40 hours per week
£26,648 per annum
The College seeks to appoint a General Maintenance Assistant to assist the small in-house team of tradespeople (plumber, electrician, carpenter, and painter) in providing day-to-day maintenance services to College buildings.
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide skilled maintenance assistance to all members of the College, and to ensure that maintenance and repairs to the College properties are always completed to a high standard. This is a varied role that works in historic buildings as part of a friendly team. The post holder will have specific responsibility for assisting in the monitoring and maintenance of our buildings and systems, promoting a culture of safe working practices across the College.
Knowledge and experience of working within a buildings maintenance environment is essential. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a trade is desirable.
You should have experience in general maintenance including minor plumbing and electrical work and knowledge of basic building construction and decorating techniques along with knowledge of safe working practices. Candidates should be motivated and can work productively alone, as well as part of the team.
The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, and attracts a salary of £26,648 p.a. (pay point 9) and excellent benefits including a contributory pension scheme, lunch when in college, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), and the use of sports facilities.
