1. Inspire and Support: Engage with students who have a variety of special educational needs, mainly those with challenging behaviour.
2. Create Joyful Learning Experiences: Assist with dynamic classroom activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment where students can flourish.
3. Provide Compassionate Care: Offer personal care when needed, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support, with kindness and respect.
4. Implement Tailored Education Plans: Work closely with classroom teachers to deliver individualised education plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's unique needs.
5. Foster Engagement: Cultivate a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere to motivate student participation and enthusiasm.
6. Collaborate for Success: Work hand-in-hand with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide comprehensive care and education.
Requirements:
7. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is a plus but not a must.
8. Ability to manage and positively respond to challenging behaviour.
9. Willingness to provide personal care as needed.
10. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential due to the school's location and potential off-site activities.
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
12. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
