The University of Strathclyde are looking to appoint a dynamic, forward thinking candidate with a ‘can do attitude’ to our award wining procurement team.The successful candidate will play a key role in the procurement of IT hardware and software across campus, ensuing value for money and compliance with Public Sector Procurement regulations.
Due to internal promotion the University of Strathclyde’s Procurement Team are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking candidate with a ‘can do attitude’ to join our IT procurement team within our leading international technological University.
This role will be ideal for someone with experience of procuring hardware, software and associated services in a public sector environment. This role will allow the right candidate to play a key role in the delivery of our Procurement Strategy and Digital Strategy ensuring that our IT procurement activity delivers innovative outcomes whilst achieving value for money against the back drop of Public Procurement Regulations. The role will be supported by experienced Category Managers and will build on the existing strong relationships with stakeholders.
The University spends circa £128 million on goods, services and works. 90% of this spend is influenced by the central procurement team who lead procurement exercises over £25,000. This exciting role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to directly support on and deliver innovative, business critical and varying commercial requirements.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on the strategic sourcing and commercial management of IT contracts, ensuring maximisation of cost efficiencies through the implementation of best procurement practice. This is a true end to end role giving ownership and autonomy to the post holder. This is why the role requires a dynamic, forward thinking candidate with a ‘can do attitude’ who wants to demonstrate their ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and showcase their commercial understanding by delivering contracts that demonstrate value for money.
