This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with engineering programme management experience within the engineering sector to join a highly collaborative and supportive team in our Capital Maintenance Projects and deliver modern and innovative solutions to our operational sites.
In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of a large portfolio of capital projects, providing MEICA and Civil engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste and water network functions, above and below ground.
You will have the opportunity to develop innovative and cost-effective strategies and solutions, which continually drive cultural change, business improvements, and increased productivity and help embed commercial focus, and corporate values and behaviours.
What you’ll be doing as an Engineering Operations Manager
1. Delivery of all capital projects to budget, ensuring turnover is managed in line with forecast.
2. Delivery of all construction projects on the program with 100% compliance with client specifications and corporate standards.
3. Management of the procurement process and the direct and indirect labour requirements.
4. Led, motivated, and developed a multi-disciplined team of Project Managers and Project Delivery Engineers, reviewing performance whilst monitoring and maintaining resource mix to meet the predicted workload.
5. Ensuring effective flow and input of commercial information to meet the financial deadlines of the business.
6. Managing the client's site requirements ensuring minimal impact on the operational functionality of the site.
7. Deliver all projects within legislative and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental compliance, and HR responsibilities.
8. Ensuring that Health and Safety is at the heart of everything that is done and that a strong Health and Safety culture is continually developed.
9. Maintenance, delivery, and development of ISO 9000, 14000 and 18000 business systems.
10. Management of multiple stakeholders, developing sustainable, long-lasting relationships across all areas of the internal business and our supply chain.
11. Base Location – Mogden in South West London but the flexible base location is within the central Thames Water geographical area.
12. Expected working hours are Monday to Friday, 36 hours a week.
What you should bring to the role
13. Have a proven track record in the delivery ofsite-based construction projects within the water industry.
14. Have an operational management background in water or a similar process-related industry.
15. Hold an industry-recognised project management qualification.
16. Hold a relevant Health & Safety qualification. (NEBOSH or similar)
17. Sound experience in managing commercial budgets.
18. Have proven experience in managing a large team in person and remotely.
19. Demonstrate an inclusive, motivational leadership style and strong interpersonal skills.
20. Have an innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
21. Possess a tenacious and resilient personality with the ability to work with confidence in a challenging, reactive environment.
22. Hold a full UK driving licence and have your transport.

23. Competitive salary between £62,000 - £74,000 per annum.
