BCL Legal is delighted to assist a leading national law firm in recruiting a specialist Construction and Engineering Disputes Lawyer to join their highly regarded team in Birmingham. This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior lawyer with a passion for construction disputes to work on high-value, complex cases in a dynamic and supportive environment. While based in Birmingham, you will work closely with the head of the disputes practice and the broader Commercial Construction team across multiple offices, benefiting from a collaborative cross-office environment. Role Responsibilities:
As a member of the firm's Commercial Construction and Energy Disputes team, you will:
1. Provide written opinions and oral advice on the resolution of construction-related disputes, including formulating strategies and tactics to achieve client objectives.
2. Advise on claims under standard and bespoke construction contracts, addressing issues such as contract interpretation, delay claims, defects, and professional negligence.
3. Represent clients in various dispute resolution forums, including adjudication, arbitration, litigation, and ADR, with opportunities to engage in both written and oral advocacy.
4. Participate in business development activities, including client seminars, presentations, and the creation of thought leadership content.
Client Base:
You will act for a diverse range of clients, including asset owners, employers, contractors, suppliers, and consultants across various sectors.

Experience Required:
You should be a qualified solicitor (or approaching qualification) in England & Wales at the 0-2 PQE level, with experience ideally gained in a national/international or leading regional firm. Ideally, you will have a background in construction dispute work, with experience working as part of a team on complex cases. An interest in contributing to the growth of the team and practice will be highly valued.
