Training will include time in relevant departments offering a broader understanding of how the business operates by getting involved in interesting and challenging work. Recent projects include; Teesport Reconstruction Berth 1, Liverpool 2 Container Terminal, Hawick Flood Protection Scheme, Royal Wharf London, Peterhead Harbour, Luton Airport & Blackpool Winter Garden Centre and Redevelopment of Liverpool Football Club’s Academy. Responsibilities Your main duties and responsibilities will include: Assisting Project Surveyor with contract quantity surveying duties Quantification, procurement and tendering of works packages Preparing sub-contractor cost and budget comparisons Post contract cost control of sub-contractors and suppliers Contract administration and payment of sub-contractors Assisting with project cost control and cost reporting How do I know if it’s right for me? The one-year programme is structured, and you will experience working with other departments to broaden your knowledge of how the business operates. How will I spend an average working week? You’ll be putting into practice what you’ve learned by working with experienced colleagues on a range of high profile projects. You will have opportunities to work on our high-profile projects, with responsibility from an early stage in your career and will play a key role in helping deliver projects on time and under budget. Qualifications Essential Open to living away from home Sound Commercial Awareness Excellent communication & negotiation skills High levels of organisational skills Ability to meet deadlines Excellent numerical, IT and problem-solving skills Ability to work in fast moving Environment Ability to work on initiative with minimum supervision Desirable Hold a full UK driving license A valid CSCS card Previous placement/internship experience in a similar role, desirable but not essential What's in it for you?
