About the Role
SAMH Moray are delighted to be recruiting for a Team Leader role to support service growth and the introduction of new elements to SAMH provision in Moray. SAMH community services provide a range of mental health and social care support to individuals and may also provide support with other complex needs. SAMH Moray provides 6 pathways of recovery based practical and emotional support to individuals across Moray. The Team Leader will be supported by the Service Manager to lead pathways of support such as distress brief intervention, short term 1-1 support and groupwork.
The Team Leader will work with a team of SAMH Mental Health Practitioners who play an important role in supporting people who use our services to develop skills to better manage their mental health and live independently, upholding their rights to privacy, dignity and personal choice. SAMH Mental Health Practitioners will work across all 6 pathways and the Team Leader will work in partnership with the wider staff team such as Team Leader, Senior Practitioner, Service Coordinator and Service Manager to maximise efficiency across the staff team and deliver high quality support which meet KPIs.

You will be an organised and approachable, able to work autonomously and take initiative to deliver a high-quality service for those we support. A natural leader, you will ideally have experience of successfully managing or coordinating teams and be able to develop supportive relationships with their team and positive relationships with partners.
There can be lots of moving parts with a high volume of referrals and service users in this service, so we are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to ensure data quality and support the service manager and service coordinator with resource planning and reporting.
Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems or distress is essential, as is experience working with adults with a wide range of support needs.
Supporting the people who use our services means there are a variety of shift patterns including evenings and weekends, as well as participating in the local out of hours on-call rota. Please note that travel is an essential part of the role and due to the geographical reach, a valid driving licence and access to own vehicle are desirable for the post.
