The Role An excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled gardener to join our small gardening team at Aldourie Castle as we continue to develop our exceptional Scottish garden designed by Tom Stuart-Smith. Our garden is part of a contemporary reimagining of a historic castle garden on a 500-acre estate on the banks of Loch Ness near Inverness. The position will offer an opportunity to develop your maintenance skillset, "plantsmanship" and understanding of design under the guidance of an experienced Head Gardener. Aldourie comprises of a castle garden and walled garden, which contain extensive naturalistic herbaceous plantings as well as vegetable and fruit areas. There are also glasshouses, an arboretum and parkland. Key Responsibilities Be a role model of WildLand Team work. Deliver a consistent high performance in the Garden Team. Align with our People Ethos and Health & Safety requirements. Partner with the Hospitality Teams to enhance the overall guest experience. Identify opportunities to continuously improve the Guest Experience. Participate in the WildLand management systems and processes which support a sustainable business. Personal Attributes Passionate and knowledgeable gardener, who has a good understanding of plants and horticultural techniques. Preferably have an HNC Horticulture (or equivalent) and some experience working in this type of garden.
