Teaching Assistant
We are a ‘Good’ mainstream primary school located in Newcastle upon Tyne, seeking a compassionate and experienced teaching assistant to join our team. Our school places pupils and their families at the heart of everything we do, and we pride ourselves on creating a warm, caring, and friendly environment where children can learn in fun and engaging ways. The school is easily accessible by car and public transport.
About the role:
* Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 3.30 pm
* Required Qualifications: Minimum Level 2 qualification in supporting children in learning, along with prior experience working with children in a primary school setting
* Pay Rate: £12.90 - £14 per hour
* Start Date: November 2024
* Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
The ideal candidate should be able to seek advice and support as needed to meet students' diverse needs, and effectively provide feedback on pupil progress, achievements, and any issues to teachers and pupils alike. Maintaining a calm, constructive approach when interacting with children is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and support small groups of pupils in learning activities
* Provide one-on-one support to individual students, helping them access tailored learning programs based on their specific developmental levels and abilities
* Respond constructively and positively to the needs of students, fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment
This role requires applicants who have experience working in primary education, are familiar with the challenges and rewards of working with young learners, and can demonstrate a positive, energetic, and patient approach.
