Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join a small legal team, providing advice and assistance across both the employing Trust and also the neighbouring Acute Trust. The role will involve undertaking a variety of legal work, with an emphasis on claims, although other types of work, such as inquest, court of protection, or employment work may also be involved. The role is full-time, and there is an opportunity to discuss working patterns. There will be a mixture of working from home and also partly office-based, with some travelling across sites and courts in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and occasionally beyond. The Trust will provide you with resources to develop and progress a long-term career, along with opportunities for professional development as well as a wide range of wellbeing and support. If you would like an opportunity to discuss the position informally, please get in touch with Christie McConalogue (Solicitor) on 07592 328296 or email Christine.McConalogue1@nhs.net.
Please note the Trust will not provide sponsorship to work for this role; to apply, you must have current right to work in the UK status.
Main duties of the job
This is a varied and interesting role, with an emphasis on ensuring that appropriate evidence is provided to investigate and support the management of claims. The role also involves working with NHS Resolution and panel firms, and the successful candidate will support the investigation of claims brought against the Trust, liaise with Trust clinicians, NHS Resolution or the appointed panel firm, as well as supporting learning from claims or inquests. This role is very focused on supporting front-line staff and would suit someone who really wants to make a difference!
