Are you a passionate and skilled Registered Dental Nurse ready to take the next step in your career? Look no further! Join our dynamic team in the OMFS & Orthodontic & Restorative Dentistry department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and become an integral part of one of the largest trusts in the North West.
As a key member of our dedicated team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on patient care. This service is provided across several sites, including Royal Preston Hospital & Chorley Hospital. We're offering a Full-Time contract for 37.5 hours per week which will end on 10th November 2025, providing you with stability and the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in your role. Your expertise will shine as you bring your post-qualification skills in either Sedation, Radiography, or Orthodontic nursing to the forefront.
Main duties of the job
* Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff.
* Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Assist in setting, monitoring and maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
* Maintain accurate and complete records of all care activities, in a timely manner, adhering to local and professional standards for documentation.
Person specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Experience of working in an OMFS / Or a Dental Specialty
* Experience of OMFS
* Experience in Orthodontics
* Knowledge and ability to take dental impressions for study models/MADs
Qualifications & Education
* GDC Registration
* Hold a relevant post qualification in Sedation / Radiography / Special Care
