Reports to: The Senior Commercial Director
Job Purpose:
To lead and drive new business growth and profitability of the business in the Automotive sector. Drive the strategy for growth and success in the Automotive sector. Responsible both for direct selling and developing existing accounts growth (with account leads) both in the UK. Negotiate and ensure a competitive advantage is maintained through robust commercial arrangements.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Lead the Automotive sector with clear objectives, support, and direction.
2. A strong matrix relationship with all key stakeholders in the business, you need to support success.
3. Development of the sector growth strategy identifying key segments and target customers to deliver the target growth.
4. Obtain and analyse market intelligence and feedback to drive an insightful strategy and its ongoing evolution.
5. Implement the sector business development plan and track success and failures for feedback and strategy evolution.
6. Drive a clear and agreed marketing plan, with the marketing team, to include social media plans, events and industry bodies.
7. Prospect, hunt and hone targets through to tender and business wins – to meet or exceed set targets.
8. Drive effective tender responses challenging solutions, IT and costs appropriately to arrive at a solution and offer that meets the customer needs, within DSV’s accepted parameters.
9. To lead negotiations through tender processes, ensuring best practice and competitive advantage is maintained.
10. Challenge and create ideas for new service propositions that meet the evolving market needs or address a service gap to drive growth and wider opportunities.
11. To develop and maintain strong relations with Automotive customers to ensure DSV are included in tenders and opportunities.
12. Lead and engender a culture of open communication, personal responsibility, and accountability in all those employed across the team.
13. Maintain and use DSV’s CRM, Dynamics, to drive performance and report on progress and results.
14. As a senior member of the DSV Business Development Leadership team support leadership forums and thought leadership for the business.
