We are looking for a bank Advanced Support Worker to support a young man who has recently moved into his own home in Camelon. This young man has complex needs, including a learning disability and Autism spectrum disorder and receives 2:1 support during the day and 1:1 support overnight.
Having moved into his home, this young man's team will help him to continue to build a fantastic life, by providing support to source new activities in his community. He requires support to keep himself safe as he doesn't understand dangerous situations. In addition, he requires support with:
•Medication administration and Epilepsy management
•Cooking and shopping
•Assisting with personal care
•Maintaining his home and managing finances We are currently recruiting for waking night shifts only. As you will be providing 1:1 support in this young man's home overnight, a driving license is not required for this role. Your values:
Respect, patience and understanding are key as the young man you'll be supporting is adjusting to his new home. It's important to take the time to understand him in order to support him to live a fantastic life as independently as possible.
Prior experience supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviour is essential and we're looking for our Advanced Support Workers to share their knowledge and experience within the team.
Applicants with a SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care would be highly desirable.
