The Role: The Transport Operations Manager will play a key role in shaping the future of the McCulla Transport business, as we continue to maximise the current operations and expand for future growth. Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team they will have a role in influencing operational and strategic decisions as part of our vision. About The Role Duties will include: You will be responsible for overseeing the Transport Operations across NI & GB. This involves ensuring that all daily operations are carried out in an efficient and effective manner inclusive of a gas-powered fleet. Leading, managing and motivating the transport team to deliver on the strategic and operational objectives. You will be involved in system design and improvements to ensure all processes are followed and correctly managed, supportive of business change. You will be responsible for overseeing the integration of our transport planning & journey management systems (Mandata & Microlise), creating developing and analysing a variety of reports and presenting your findings to board. You will be directly responsible for ensuring that all aspects of Operational Legislation are adhered to, and that the Health and Safety of all transport employees is championed. Identifying areas of opportunity for McCulla Ireland such as additional revenue streams and cost-effective use of in-house fleet vs sub-contraction. Ensuring that McCulla Ireland service our customers on time, in full, within agree SLAs and that that excellent customer service is delivered across the department. The control and management of departmental budget. The management of all people matters ranging from colleague engagement, absence management, employee relations and disciplinary and grievance. Create a positive work environment across the site, ensuring KPI targets are achieved by the teams. Ensure labour is proactively managed to ensure capacity is available to meet the customer needs. Manage the overall performance, linked to KPIs to ensure activity is recorded and measured to optimise efficiencies across the department. Criteria: You will be an experienced Transport Operations Manager with a minimum of 5 years experience in Logistics & Supply Chain Operations. High level understanding of fleet procurement processes and technology that impacts on transport relevant to the industry sector. The experience and ability to engage across functions (Commercial, Warehouse, Customs, Finance, HR, etc). Have a high-level understanding of financial operations, managing cost controls across the transport function. Experienced in change management and continuous improvement. Have a proven track record of developing and upskilling others. Adaptable and Flexible to meet the business needs. Experience with building relationships and working alongside customers, introducing innovative solutions to demonstrate value add. Terms: Highly competitive salary package depending on experience.
