Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for:
* Management and servicing of Aircraft Ground support equipment.
* General upkeep and maintenance of the Hangar and office complex.
* Overall responsibility for the company vehicle servicing/repairs and condition.
* Plan the coordination and towing related to aircraft movements at the Bournemouth facility.

You will possess extensive experience within mechanical maintenance of either vehicles, marine, or plant equipment. The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively, as well as work as part of the wider Engineering Team, is essential to the successful delivery of this role. Responsibilities:
1. CARRYING OUT regular, preventative inspection and maintenance of hangar support equipment/GSE.
2. Ensuring the calibration deadlines are coordinated and met in advance of due dates.
3. Working with the Warehouse Supervisor to plan and coordinate the service, repair and calibration of all GSE & tooling in the hangar, while maintaining them in a state conducive to an efficient hangar operation.
4. Responsible for timely completion of scheduled routine/mandatory inspections and repairs as required.
5. Reporting all deficiencies and non-compliance using the company reporting systems.
6. Effective management of tooling in the corridor system (e.g. quarantine controls etc).
7. Liaising with Compliance, Health & Safety teams to ensure compliance including monitoring, recording, and reporting.
8. Weekly review of ‘in use’ POLA items in the Hangar cabinets, removing expired and non-identifiable items and maintaining inventory as agreed with Supply Chain.
9. Weekly review/replenishment of COSHH lockers, maintaining inventory as agreed with Health and safety team.
10. Weekly review/replenishment of Commercial lockers, maintaining inventory to agreed levels.
11. Providing escorting for external contractors on our site on request.
12. Provide reciprocal support to the facilities assistant where required, with duties such as light housekeeping/maintenance tasks in the hangar, waste disposal.
13. Oversight and management of company vehicles servicing and general maintenance needs.
14. Comply with the processes, policies and procedures incorporated in the Ground Handling Procedures Manual to handle company and third-party aircraft.
15. Work with shift leads and lead engineers to plan/coordinate the daily aircraft movements.
16. Coordinate and perform aircraft pushback and towing, including aircraft manoeuvring in/out of hangar.
17. Follow company towing procedures and ensure safety of personnel and product.
18. Maintain required records in relation to ground handling operations.
19. Assist with the loading/unloading of patients to air ambulance aircraft.
20. Escort ambulances on site as required.
21. Facilitate security escorting of contractors as required.
22. Act as duty First Aider and Fire Marshall.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
Essential:
* Recognised industry qualification in a mechanical or automotive discipline.
* Extensive experience of mechanical maintenance of vehicles, marine or plant equipment.
* Highly skilled in general maintenance of plant equipment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient in the use of MS Office programs including Word and Excel.
* Reliable and punctual individual.
* Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively, as well as being a strong team player.
* Possess an eye for detail and able to work to processes and procedures.
* A full UK driving licence is required.
Advantageous:
* Forklift and cherry picker/IPAF (MEWP - mobile elevated working platform) licenses beneficial.
* Experience of towing aircraft and driving HGV type vehicles is desirable.
* Experience of working in an airport ramp environment is desirable.
* Experience within the aviation/aerospace industry will be highly advantageous.
* Organised and competent in tracking and managing tasks in a database would be useful.
