Temporary Works Structural Engineer
Esher, Surrey
£50k-£75k
A well-established and highly reputable specialist Temporary Works Design Consultancy has an opening for an experienced temporary works design engineer to join their proficient and experienced team at their head office in Esher.
The consultancy has around 70 staff and is the in-house design arm for a major contractor but also has much of their own external work as well.
You would need to be a highly technical hands-on structural engineer, with a CV showing significant experience with a range of building structures work and leadership roles. Ideally, you will be MICE or MIStructE qualified. Geotechnical knowledge would be useful. You must have the full right to work in the UK and be living within commuting distance.
The role will also include some permanent works design and geotechnical works.
You will be given exposure to a wide variety of challenging works, including working on a variety of large building design projects often involving high-profile and complex building projects. There will be demolition works, needling and propping, façade retentions, foundation designs, stability and alteration works, basements, geotechnical works, and some permanent works.
The role will be very varied and would suit a driven candidate with a problem-solving can-do attitude. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English are essential.
The emphasis here is on high-quality design solutions in a contractor-led, often reactive work environment, so you must be a clear thinker and keen to work in a fast-paced environment, leading from the front. An emphasis is placed on having highly qualified staff here and offering expert solutions to clients.
In addition to base salary, there are 25 days holiday, pension, healthcare, bonus scheme, socials, and one day of work from home allowed if so wished.
