The Role
Responsible for leading the data team and all aspects of data management, data analysis and performance reporting. Controlling data throughout its life cycle, ensuring data confidentiality, integrity and availability; maximising the use of data for informed decision-making whilst maintaining a robust data governance framework. Turning data into usable insights to improve performance and implementing predictive analysis approaches to further improve insight and performance.
About You
You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for data and its potential to drive business transformation. With a deep understanding of how data can unlock insights, inform decision-making, and enhance organisational performance, you lead with purpose and clarity. As a confident leader of data teams, you know how to motivate and inspire others to treat data as an asset, and you work collaboratively to instil a culture of data ownership across the business.
Your experience includes delivering data strategies that focus on quality, maturity, and governance. You take pride in developing processes that ensure data is clean, secure, and useable providing a reliable foundation for predictive analytics, operational reporting, and performance monitoring. With strong communication skills, you work closely with business units to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights that support both tactical and strategic goals.
You have a solid grounding in both data visualisation and data engineering. You understand how to design and deliver intuitive dashboards and performance reports that communicate insights clearly and effectively to a wide range of stakeholders.
At the same time, you’re confident working with modern data architecture and engineering practices—building robust pipelines, integrating multiple data sources, and ensuring data is structured and stored efficiently across warehouses, lakes, or hybrid environments. You’re comfortable partnering with technical teams and analysts alike to bring the right tools and technologies together in support of scalable, data-driven solutions.
Above all, you’re passionate about empowering others to use data effectively. Whether it’s running a ‘data champions’ forum or coaching teams on best practice, you’re an advocate for data literacy and collaboration. You understand that great data management doesn’t happen in isolation—it requires the whole business working together towards a shared vision.
