About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Commercial Director responsible for planning, developing, and implementing commercial strategies to meet the objectives of the NNEP framework. This role involves maximizing revenue, profit, and sustainable growth throughout the program's lifecycle. The Commercial Director will influence pricing models and leverage market insights to guide NNEP's direction, requiring extensive commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and strong communication and leadership skills.
The role oversees Commercial, Procurement, and Supply Chain strategies aligned with the central EAS capability. It includes managing the Sales and Proposals team and developing strategic relationships with AWE, partners, and the supply chain to support Jacobs' capabilities and meet NNEP (and wider AWE) scope requirements.
Key Tasks:
1. Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of business strategies aligned with commercial goals.
2. Project Management: Manage all commercial aspects of large-scale, multi-billion-pound construction projects from start to finish.
3. Risk and Opportunity Management: Identify and mitigate risks while seizing commercial opportunities.
4. Team Management: Foster collaboration, support, and innovation within the team, encouraging feedback and adaptation.
5. Financial Management: Set and achieve P&L, budget, and forecast goals; oversee reporting and optimize cash flow.
6. Contract Management: Ensure contracts are in place before work begins and represent the district in client meetings on commercial matters.
7. Reporting and Analysis: Provide comprehensive reports and analysis to senior management on project commercial status.
8. Training and Development: Develop and deliver training to enhance team capabilities and performance.
9. Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate effective communication across teams and lead meetings to ensure alignment.
Qualifications and Experience:
• BSc/BA in Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
• Significant experience in major program delivery, preferably including international projects valued at hundreds of millions of pounds
• Proven leadership and behavioral management skills, with experience leading change and building multidisciplinary teams
• Strong understanding of NEC and other contract forms, including P13
• Experience managing complex supply chains for engineering or construction projects
• Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to obtain security clearance or existing clearance
