As a Senior Workplace,Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist, your role is key to drivingimprovements on-site and at a regional level. You’ll help yourcolleagues maintain high standards, all while driving a culture ofsafety and inclusivity on your site.
Key jobresponsibilities
• Work with WHS to support RME linked toraising the bar on safety.
• Help to develop paperworksystems linked to operational processes (risk assessments,SOP's)
• Travel between the sites in your region toperform inspections and support on programmes whererequired.
• Develop SME knowledge linked to automationand machinery used within AMZL.
• Support WHS and RMElinked to building upgrades and changes linked to works involvingcontractors and other programmes of work.
• Supportaccident / near miss investigations.
• Manage yourprogrammes, whilst regularly collaborating with other teams andstakeholders across the company
• Use internal reportingtools to analyse data reports and root causes that provideleadership with the information they need to make safety relateddecisions
• Provide guidance and arrangements for healthand safety projects and policies
• Drive programmes toimprove technical equipment specifications and designs withinAmazon
• Above-average willingness to travel within thecovered region
A day in thelife
This is an extremely varied role, you will be basedat one of the sites in the region but will be required to travelweekly around the other sites where required.
You willmanage health and safety standards while improving functionalityand efficiency. You’ll will work with WHS, supporting RME and sitesto help them implement changes in response to employee feedback orseize opportunities to continuously make process improvements.
Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe,managing their satisfaction, and supervising their well being andproductivity. You’ll step in and take ownership of health andsafety to foster a culture that revolves around operating safely.

WorkplaceHealth and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our peoplementally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers,associates and local governments across our sites, making surewe’re complying with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations, andthat our workplaces are safe.
There is a range ofopportunities within the team, from Health and Safety Techniciansto Programme Managers. No matter what your role is, you’ll play apart in developing, implementing and upholding our high safety andwellbeing standards. You could work on a variety of projectsalongside colleagues from across the business, ranging fromequipment and process inspections to assessing processes, buildingand equipment design.
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-partydistribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking andcontinuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physicalproducts into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make ourcustomers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll outglobal delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like AmazonFresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are twosides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates processmillions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our teamis people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of ourpeople work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our ‘onthe road’ people work with Amazon Flex - a network of deliverycontractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customerexperience with new, innovative delivery services. BASICQUALIFICATIONS
• Education to a degree level andadditional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diplomalevel
• Professional training in a technical profession,preferably mechatronics or electrics
• Relevantexperience managing projects
• Relevant experiencecomplying with local Health and Safety legislation
•Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple prioritiessimultaneously
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

•Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies
•Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability
• Relevant experience of communicating with a wide rangeof stakeholders, including your peers and leadership
•Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g.,IOSH) to support people management
• Strong stakeholdermanagement capabilities
• Strong knowledge ofmechanical, electrical, and controls systems
• Bachelor’sdegree in Engineering or relatedfield
