We are offering a Planning Policy Officer (Local Plan) role for a passionate and experienced planner to play a key role in driving our new Local Plan forward. You will be uniquely placed to prepare and deliver a new plan which will shape the three areas of Preston, Chorley and South Ribble for the next fifteen years, ensuring we deliver our key priorities around climate change and the natural environment and supporting our communities to create jobs and training opportunities, deliver new homes and plan for the infrastructure needed to sustain our boroughs. This role is mainly based in the Chorley office, but will require you to work flexibly across Chorley, Preston, and South Ribble Council Offices.
What you'll be getting up to
* Supporting development of the Central Lancashire Local Plan.
* Providing professional planning policy capacity in all aspects of the Local Plan making process.
Who we're looking for
* A qualified planning officer with an appetite for shaping the future of areas and with experience of planning policy and plan making.
* Degree or postgraduate qualification (RTPI recognised) in Town Planning.
* Chartered member of the RTPI or Licentiate with evidence of working towards MRTPI.

* This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
