We have a new opportunity to be part of the Mechanical Design Team in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, testing, and development of varied mechanical components for our Formula One car. You will work as part of a highly skilled team responsible for delivering innovative design solutions that support the team’s goal of being a top team in the FIA Constructor’s Championship.
You will be responsible for:
* Creating design schemes from concept stage for mechanical components.
* Producing detailed drawings to facilitate the manufacturing of these components.
* Providing follow-up support during the assembly, testing, and development phases.
* Developing practical solutions to resolve issues arising from testing and development.
* Actively contributing to design concept development and continuous improvements.
* Attending and participating in team meetings and technical discussions.
* Keeping up to date with Formula 1 regulations and industry standards.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
* Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Relevant mechanical design experience in a motorsport environment, preferably Formula 1.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, ideally CATIA V6.
* Experience producing high-level design schemes and detailed drawings of complex assemblies under tight deadlines.
* Creative problem-solving skills with an innovative and flexible approach to engineering challenges.
* A strong analytical mindset throughout all stages of the design process.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* The ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure to meet deadlines.
* A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable attitude.
* Commitment to teamwork and the ability to work effectively in a fast-changing environment.
* A solid understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety best practices.
This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
