An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sister/Charge Nurse Secondment post on Ward 404 Respiratory at the Royal Derby Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced Nurse with specialist knowledge and skills in the care of patients with respiratory disorders. The right candidate should have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be a visible leader and be passionate about high quality and innovative care.
As a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse you will be responsible for the co-ordination of the ward on a day to day basis, ensuring safe staffing and skill mix in order to deliver safe, effective high quality care with compassion, dignity and respect. To escalate and respond to concerns professionally and appropriately and provide 24-hour care.
Main duties of the job
Ward 404 is a 30-bed acute Respiratory Ward and specialises in diagnosis, treatment and continuing care of adults of all ages with a wide range of respiratory and related conditions and manages patients requiring a variety of support with respiratory conditions.
Due to the nature of our patients and their specialist medicine management the wards are varied, exciting and challenging as a speciality.
You will provide staff with support, reflecting HR policies and procedures including staff performance, appraisals, sickness and absence.
You will act as a role model and someone for whom patients, staff and relatives can turn to for assistance, advice and support.
You will support the Management Team in the day-to-day management of the ward whilst supporting junior members of staff in the clinical setting.
