The Role
The Sales Manager plays a central role in ensuring the commercial success and ongoing reputation of Blue Skies Lifestyle Ltd and its luxury travel brands. This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear remit to drive sales performance, uphold the company’s high standards of service, and create a working culture grounded in expertise, pride and professionalism.
You will lead and manage a dedicated sales team, offering fresh ideas, providing the structure, oversight and support they need to succeed. This includes overseeing their performance, training and development, guiding sales strategy, and acting as the senior escalation point for clients and partners. You will also retain a direct role in managing the sales team’s handling of high-value and repeat clients, ensuring the company’s reputation for service excellence is not only maintained but strengthened.
This is not a remote leadership role; success depends on your visibility, consistency and ability to lead by example, being approachable, earning the confidence of your team, and the trust of clients and partners.
The Responsibilities
As Sales Manager, you are accountable for the overall delivery and performance of the sales function across all brands. You are responsible for a team of sales consultants who handle bespoke client enquiries for high-end luxury holiday rentals. Your role spans daily operational oversight, performance management, and strategic contribution.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all inbound sales enquiries. These are distributed among the team, and you are expected to ensure that this is done fairly and efficiently, taking into account team members’ capacity, performance levels and specialist product knowledge. You will then track follow-up activity, ensuring clients are responded to promptly, appropriately, and with the high-touch professionalism expected of a luxury brand. When issues arise, such as a client not receiving the level of service expected or an enquiry being poorly handled, it is your job to intervene quickly, address the issue, and implement improvements.
You will personally manage key client relationships, especially high-value or returning clients, and remain hands-on with active sales enquiries where your involvement can strengthen conversion or add value. This includes stepping in where additional authority, reassurance or decision-making is needed, particularly in sensitive or complex client interactions. At times, this may require availability outside regular working hours, including responding to out-of-hours enquiries.
You are expected to lead from the front in terms of client interaction. That means being visible, informed and involved in the day-to-day sales environment, not operating remotely or at arm’s length from the team. Your leadership should reflect the company’s values of pride, passion and expertise.
Sales performance tracking is a key aspect of the role. You will monitor the team’s sales pipeline and results, ensuring targets are understood, realistic, and met or exceeded. You will provide regular updates and reporting to the Directors, flagging areas of concern and opportunity. This includes compiling data on conversion rates, individual team member performance, enquiry volumes and overall sales results.
You will be expected to create and deliver regular reviews with the sales team, feeding this back to the Directors. These reviews should not only assess performance but also provide structured feedback and development opportunities for each team member. You will lead and implement a structured programme of sales training alongside of the Senior Ski Specialist —both group sessions and tailored one-to-one coaching—focused on building confidence, deepening product knowledge and reinforcing high service standards.
You will work alongside the management team in all areas of the business. Strong communication is essential to ensure the business works efficiently as one. Sharing sales trends, successes and feedback as well as offering ideas and supporting one another.
You will work closely with external operators and property owners to resolve issues, negotiate terms where necessary, and escalate problems that require senior input. Maintaining strong commercial relationships and protecting the company’s reputation in the luxury sector is essential.
You will support the Directors with recruitment and onboarding of new team members. This includes contributing to candidate selection, managing the induction process, and delivering structured training and oversight during the early months in post.
Finally, you will act as a senior representative of the business at industry events, familiarisation trips and occasional trade shows. You should be confident in promoting the company’s offering, strengthening external relationships and bringing insight back into the team.
The post holder may also be asked to support and undertake other related duties not listed in this Job Description from time to time according to the needs of the business.
Key Performance Indicators
Your performance will be measured across a range of qualitative and quantitative indicators. These will include, but are not limited to:
* Achievement of sales targets by the team and by individual consultants
* Conversion rates from enquiry to booking across different product lines
* Client retention rates, including repeat bookings from all clients
* Feedback and satisfaction ratings from clients, as well as external partners
* Team performance and development outcomes, assessed through regular reviews
·The overall contribution of the sales function to the business’s strategic goals
·Team motivation and morale
