At all times the appointee will abide by the following principles: Be expected to provide a patient centred service, respecting the privacy, dignity and choice of individual patients. They will be responsible along with General Surgery colleagues for the provision of outpatient and inpatient services within the East Lancashire Hospital Trust. Aim to deliver high quality care with the help of the existing surgical team. Be a team player and flexible with your approach. Be involved in clinical, patient management problems and multi-disciplinary planning treatment. On appointment the candidate will have a prescribed number of theatre sessions to deliver during the financial year and an associated level of activity. Share in administrative duties allocated by mutual agreement within the Directorate. Ensure all dictation of clinical letters within 24 hours (mandatory) Observe and comply with clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures (including local and national employment and personnel policies) agreed with employees and management. In particular, the post holder will be responsible for updating policies and guidelines for the Breast service along with colleagues, which should be reviewed regularly. Provide support to the complaints process (this may include attending complaint meetings with patients, families, and their relatives). Be closely involved in clinical audit and other clinical governance issues. Support the other members of the team in the daily duties and support a learning culture in the workplace.
