My client in the Colchester area are seeking a Design/Control System Engineer due to expansion. Company Description My client located in Colchester, is a provider of bespoke affordable control and safety solutions. The company delivers industrial automation control & safety systems and instrument services to customers worldwide, and serves multiple markets including rail, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, marine and others. The team has been working together for over 25 years developing bespoke adaptable control and safety systems to meet customers' needs worldwide. Safety is at the core of business and all of the company's systems meet the (SIL). Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Control System Design Engineer located in Colchester. The Engineer will be responsible for control systems design, electrical engineering, systems engineering, PLC Programming, Testing and on site testing & commissioning of industrial automation control & safety systems. The Role will include: · Developing complex designs, detailed layouts, mechanical design and wiring schematics for safety / control systems using AutoCAD. · Hardware and Software design engineering · PLC Programming – writing & developing code – Allan Bradley Rockwell, etc · Reviewing project specifications and determining project requirements · Working on both new and existing Schemes to develop detailed designs · Developing functional design specifications and documentation for new projects · Designing SCADA systems and HMi’s · Perform testing & validation of hardware/software systems · Optimising design via simulations, testing & development · Participate in design & technical meetings with customers/stakeholders · Internal System Testing of new systems. · On site commissioning of new systems both UK and worldwide Knowledge, Skills & Experience: · AutoCAD Knowledge & Experience – This is a must and we will require evidence of this prior to hiring. · Experienced in PLC programming – Allen Bradley as a minimum · Systems, Software & Hardware development experience · Degree in Control, Automation or Electrical Engineering is preferred · PLC / SCADA system design & development, including safety · Industrial communications experience – ProfiBus, Ethernet, DeviceNet · Experience with Emulation & Simulation software an advantage · Strong & effective communicator · Willing to travel throughout the UK & overseas if needed · Rail Industry knowledge would be advantageous Employee Benefits include: · Subsidised Gym Membership · Team Building Events · 25 Days Annual Leave Bank Holidays · Annual Performance Based Bonus' · Annual Performance Review · Health & Wellbeing Programme · Pension Scheme Location: Colchester (commutable from Ipswich, Cambridge, and Chelmsford) Salary: £55k-£70k (depending upon experience plus benefits) Please respond with an up to date CV to be considered.
