The Operations Supervisor keeps the wheels of our business turning and delivers the safe, reliable, and punctual service our customers and clients expect and deserve.
Skills and Knowledge
1. Local area knowledge of Heathrow Airport and West London.
2. Experience of at least running either regulated bus services or airside operations.
3. IT skills - including Microsoft Suite, Coach Manager, and OmniDas.
4. Understanding of rotas and allocations.
5. Willingness to learn and develop, with a can-do approach.
6. Ability to react efficiently and decisively.
7. Problem-solving skills.
8. A calm head under pressure.
9. Understanding of Domestic GB and EU driving hours regulations.
10. Ideally, a Category D Licence.
11. To be a self-starter and team player.
You’ll need to have:
1. Full UK driving licence with a Cat D entitlement.
2. Minimum two years driving experience.
3. Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
4. 5-year checkable work or education history.
5. Clean criminal record.
Key Tasks
1. Ensure vehicle run-out and run-back is handled efficiently without delays.
2. Ensure all Drivers have CPC, Driving License, and uniform.
3. Cover, update, and allocate Crew and Private Hire movements efficiently to ensure we're on time, every time.
4. Ensure service operated is fully covered in the event of driver or vehicle non-availability, regulated and punctual.
5. Make Drivers aware of road closures and diversions.
6. Conduct fact finds where necessary for early running, unnecessary delays, non-compliant operation, or incidents.
7. Provide high-quality customer service by phone and email.
8. Ensure driver compliance with Domestic GB and EU driving hours.
9. Resolve Drivers' enquiries promptly.
10. Complete end of shift handover daily.
11. Carry out compliance checks (10% of run out daily or run backs) and store documentation correctly.
12. Issue and return all VCR cards ensuring they are completed correctly.
13. Deal with vehicle breakdowns and defects promptly, in collaboration with the Engineering Team, and ensure PMI/MOT/40K vehicles are provided on time.
14. Record vehicle breakdowns in Freeway.
15. Deal with accidents and incidents promptly, capturing relevant evidence and reports.
16. Record and minimise lost mileage.
17. Carry out random or for-cause drug and alcohol testing.
18. Complete cleaning audits.
Working Environment
You will be based at our Heathrow depot working in the traffic office. You will be expected to drive when required for operational needs.
Working Hours
Shift working to an agreed rota, 4 on 4 off shifts Days and Nights available:
1. Day: 05:00-13:00 or 13:00-21:00
2. Night: 21:00-05:30
Overtime available.
