We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer/Technician on a permanent basis in North East London for a leading Rolling Stock manufacturing company.
You will carry out fault finding and repairs on state of the art trains, with a salary of 54,900pa (including shift allowance). The role is based on permanent night shifts.
The successful candidate will be level 3 qualified or equivalent ideally with an electrical bias and have good fault finding experience.
This will consist of such tasks as:
1. Undertaking fault finding and the associated repair thereof.
2. Providing assistance and technical feedback to the management team.
3. Observing all the rules and regulations related to health and safety practices, including maintaining a tidy workplace and disposing of substances with a high environmental impact.
4. Undertaking and providing support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems.
5. Carrying out in-house repairs of unserviceable equipment to reduce waste and increase efficiency in repair times on units.
6. Maintaining stock levels and conducting stock checks on site through booking our parts on the asset management system and communication with depot management teams.
Candidate profile:
1. Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds/BTEC level with Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic bias.
2. Able to read electrical/mechanical schematics competently.
3. Ability to work in a pressurised environment and make decisions to tight deadlines.
4. Must demonstrate commitment to maintaining professional knowledge and ensuring the depth of their specialist knowledge is maintained.
5. Can demonstrate a customer-driven attitude focused on quality.
