Main duties of the job
The Lead Pharmacist (LCP) will oversee and continue to develop a highly successful and growing team of 42 pharmacists, 4 pharmacy technicians, 4 pre-registration pharmacy technicians (PTPTs), and trainee pharmacists spread across Haringey practices.
You will directly line manage 4-6 Senior Clinical Pharmacists who will, in turn, provide line management to up to 12 clinical pharmacists/pharmacy technicians/PTPTs and support the development of trainees. This includes conducting one-to-ones, appraisals, and providing mentorship to support the development and progress of senior pharmacists' workstreams.
The LCP will oversee a team budget and work with PCNs and/or the HGPF network support team to manage pharmacy budgets where applicable and relevant. The LCP will consider risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure good governance to provide a high-quality service.
You will have a sound understanding of the national, regional, and local strategic priorities that impact clinical pharmacy and will be proactive in ensuring these priorities are delivered.

Job responsibilities
The role will include clinical sessions in a Haringey practice, and the lead pharmacist must demonstrate expertise in the areas of chronic disease management, structured medication reviews, high-risk medication management, and wider primary care clinical priority areas. The post holder will provide support to general practice staff and teams for prescription and medication-related queries as required by the practice(s) they work in. This time would be outside of the 15 hours towards this role.
They will support and lead on quality improvement initiatives on a practice/PCN or organisational level and improve medicines reconciliation and transfer of care of patients across sectors.
They will have experience in providing support to the MDT team and the ability to facilitate group training sessions.

Qualifications
* Masters degree in pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent
* Post-graduate clinical diploma level or equivalent training/experience or independent prescriber
* HEE or affiliate educator training
