Mental Health Services in North Lincolnshire have benefited from over £3m worth of additional investment, which has enabled us to expand our Hospital Liaison Mental Health Team to operate to a Core24 Liaison Mental Health Service Model to Scunthorpe General Hospital as part of NHS England’s ‘Achieving Better Access to 24/7 Urgent and Emergency Mental Health Care’ Guidance.
The Hospital Liaison Team is commissioned to work in a predominantly nursing-led consultation model, comprised of a Nurse Consultant, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Band 6 Nurses, with wider multi-disciplinary input from Consultant Psychiatrists and a Principal Psychologist.
We would welcome colleagues with an Older adult Nursing background, or younger adults although the service covers across all ages (18+).
The Hospital Liaison Team provides assessment and support to service users referred into our team by Scunthorpe General Hospital. Scunthorpe General Hospital is currently in the process of being extensively refurbished and modernised, designed in consultation with our Hospital Liaison Team to ensure we have dedicated office and consultation space to carry out assessments within the Emergency Department.
An interest in working with substance misuse would be desirable.
