The successful candidate will provide help and advice across our Asset Management Contracts and provide review and support for improvements to the existing SHE procedures. The post holder should have a proactive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to interact with the site teams, various business units and the Client’s teams to ensure effective relationships are established.
This is a significant role within the Company as we continue to endeavour to keep the workforce free from injury and ill health, help the Company meet our agreed objectives and targets, and ensure improvements to our current systems which provide ongoing compliance with current H&S and Environmental legislation. Location: Belfast (Nationwide Travel)
Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday 37.5 Hours

1. Provide technical support, advice, and guidance to the Project Management team on SHE matters.
2. Investigate accidents, incidents and high potential observations using the GRAHAM in house application (CORA) ensuring that Lessons Learned are communicated throughout the Company.
3. Deliver Asbestos Awareness training in accordance with UKATA guidelines.
4. Be the main point of contact for completion of construction phase plans in line with UK/ROI legislation.
5. Act as the focal point when liaising with Statutory agencies.
6. Prepare initial RAMS for Client approval.
7. Assist with responses to PQQ and Bids.
8. Liaise with Client requirements including joint audits and attending Client SHE meetings.
9. Validation and approval of subcontractor SHEQ prequalification checks and onboarding
10. Complete site audits and inspections during periods of high-risk activities
11. Monitor updates to current legislation & guidance and provide advice on any business unit impacts.
12. Take a lead role in developing, maintaining, and delivering Health & Safety/Environmental compliance activities.
13. Develop and maintain the company's Health and Safety management system, ensuring it aligns with ISO requirements
About You
Essential
14. Formal H&S qualification e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
15. Holder of CSCS / CSR card
16. Appropriate Security Clearance (or a willingness and ability to obtain it)
17. Detailed knowledge of Temporary Works
18. Detailed Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation, especially CDM & Asbestos regs.
19. Detailed Knowledge of relevant Environmental legislation
20. Demonstrate a sound understanding of construction processes.
21. Minimum of 5 years’ H&S experience gained in construction, or a construction related discipline, & FM Operations
22. Demonstrate strong communication, numeracy and literacy skills.
23. Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
Desirable
24. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma
25. Temporary Works Designated Individual experience.
26. Experience gained from working directly on or with site teams in a construction environment.
27. Working towards, or possessing, as a minimum Grad IOSH or equivalent professional qualification
28. Detailed knowledge of the relevant management standards ( / HSG65)
29. Awareness of the quality management and environmental systems and standards (/ / etc.)
30. Knowledge of a Behavioural Based Safety approach to H&S improvement
31. Awareness of current Client standards and expectations
32. P qualification.
