Job Description: Catering Assistant in MOD Environment
Join our team for a unique and rewarding catering role within a Ministry of Defence (MOD) environment, working alongside military personnel to prepare high-quality meals and support exciting functions. Shift Patterns:
* Early Shift: 05:30-13:30
* Middle Shift: 11:00-19:00
* Late Shift: 16:15-00:15
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation, cooking, and service of meals in a fast-paced kitchen
2. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, ensuring compliance with EHO guidelines
3. Collaborate with front-of-house team to deliver excellent service
4. Cook and serve meals to military personnel, maintaining high standards daily
5. Oversee kitchen sanitation and ensure best practices are followed
6. Participate in high-profile events and functions, showcasing culinary skills
7. Engage in bulk cooking, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience as a professional chef in catering or hospitality
* Recognised culinary qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ Level 2/3)
* Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a team environment
* Passion for cooking and delivering high-quality service
* Experience in military or government catering environments
* IOSH qualification or equivalent
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
