Job Summary: The Geophysical Advisor, New Energy Solutions will be part of the Site Characterization team driving the success of TGS's subsurface solutions for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and offshore wind farm (OWF) development. The Geophysical Advisor will be responsible for recognizing business opportunities and developing complex proposals, exploring new avenues of activity and seeking opportunities that the company can exploit to develop and grow in the CCS and offshore wind market.
Purpose & Scope:
1. Contribute to the technical development and delivery of all high- and ultra-high resolution marine geophysical offerings in the New Energy space with focus on offshore wind and CCS.
2. Act as a technical focal point between New Energies business unit and other business units from tender to project execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the technical roadmap for Site Characterization (short-medium-long term), focusing on offshore wind and CCS.
2. Assure adequate quality and optimize efficiency on all site characterization projects in close collaboration with the Project Owners.
3. Manage technical input during tender stage and coordinate with other units.
4. Technical resource for New Energies business development.
5. Manage the technical communication strategy for site characterization and produce and present technical marketing material.
6. Collaborate and coordinate with all units required to deliver on the technical strategy.
Key Competencies:
1. Advanced knowledge of seismic acquisition and imaging and other technology areas of high importance to Site Characterization.
2. Technical expertise in hydrographic surveying is an advantage.
3. Experience in integrating geophysics and geotechnics in offshore wind is an advantage.
4. Ability to manage complex technical projects.
5. Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with ability to identify and develop innovative solutions.
6. Experience in developing, implementing and driving new technology and workflows.
7. Strong communication skills; ability to build sound external and internal relationships and to clearly communicate geophysical concepts to all stakeholders.
8. Collaborative mindset, ability to create a positive climate for collaboration and development both internally and with clients and other relevant parties.
Job Requirements (Education and Experience):
1. Minimum a Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology or a related field.
2. Extensive relevant experience in the offshore energy sector, experience from seismic acquisition operations is an advantage.
3. Travel as required.
