EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 to design and realize nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide.
EDF EPR Engineering UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and is preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.
At HPC, we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK, providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
Due to our ongoing growth, we are recruiting for a Transverse Technical Lead to support the construction activities of piping and supports on BNI and BOP scope, supporting the Contract Engineering Lead.
The main activities consist of technically supporting the Contract Engineering Lead (construction activities) by leading transverse technical topics. This will involve organizing technical meetings, coordinating with all key stakeholders, and writing technical engineering documents.
Principal Responsibilities
Support the Contract Engineering Lead activities for Piping Construction activities on BNI and BOP, including:
* Leading technical topics towards a best for project solution
* Coordinating discussions with all key stakeholders
* Answering Technical Queries
* Resolving construction Open Points
* Supporting the HK8010 Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) to manage Early Warnings
* Handling specific technical topics and assisting project managers in preparing BFPI/CMB/PCR papers
Proactive reactivity and technical experience are required to enable site construction activities to be executed without blockers, providing technical support/expertise to close all open points and technical queries raised by the construction contractor.

To be considered, the following qualifications, skills, and experience are essential:
* Degree in a related engineering field
* Proven experience in an equivalent/related role in the construction industry
* Meticulous and rigorous approach to engineering to achieve high professional standards
* Good communication skills for positive engagement with key stakeholders
* Proven ability to deliver engineering safely, to the correct quality, time, and cost in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment
* Ability to work autonomously while being aware of own limitations
* Knowledge of contractual and commercial mechanisms
* Chartered Engineer with a relevant engineering institute (desirable)
* Detailed understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations (advantageous)
* Working knowledge of French language (advantageous)
* Good knowledge of CDM Regulations (advantageous)
* Problem-solving skills to find solutions
* Writing skills for issuing technical documentation
* Technical competences to coordinate and perform surveillance on Contractor deliverables
* Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple and understandable way to a range of stakeholders
