About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced management accountant who is comfortable being the business contact lead in the subsidiary and will add value through the individual’s capability to collaborate relevant financial and non-financial information to aid in management decision making.
The post holder will be the first POC for day-to-day queries, assist and own delivery of the budget process, prepare the management accounts, report daily and forecast accurately on working capital, assist and own the year end audit and provide high quality information for the materials handling subsidiary in the group.
This role is based in Shrewsbury with the business being in South Petherton hence the requirement to travel to site twice fortnightly to partner with the business department leads and support with any finance related queries.
The finance team for the group is based in Shrewsbury and split between Transactional and Management accounts/Controlling functions – this role sits within the management accounts team so whilst there is no need for traditional transacting, we do require someone who’s willing to understand how the systems work/how transactions are processed and to be hands on.
Responsibilities
* Month end/year end processing
* Management accounts to first draft for presentation
* Budget tasks ownership
* Audit tasks ownership
* Misc reporting as required
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Depot reporting packs
* Business Partnering
* Working Capital Management – Daily reporting and forecasting
Candidate Requirements
* 5+ years finance experience
* Studying/Qualified CIMA or other equivalent
* Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to trouble shoot effectively
* Ability to prioritise tasks and work autonomously
* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,)
* A high level of proficiency in Excel is a requirement to be successful in this role
* Business Partnering capability – getting things done through others and being the Finance contact for the subsidiary
