Description CMDP is a joint venture between Costain and MWHT and delivers a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & Sussex). We are looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to provide full advice to project teams working on the design and delivery of water supply and wastewater treatment works. This includes conducting feasibility studies, assessment of the need for consents, permits & licences, leading on EIA Scoping & Screening, providing inputs to planning submissions and liaison with specialists for archaeology, UXO, flood risk, arboriculture, materials management, contaminated land, noise, vibration, visual impact, landscape & visual and ecology. Working in the CMDP Environment Team you’ll gather all the necessary information on the project and advise the design and project teams on environmental constraints and permissions in order to achieve our commitment to compliance and enhancement of the environment as we build critical assets on a wide range of different water projects across the southeast of England. Helping CMDP to protect and improve our environment by sharing knowledge and experience to our multidisciplined workforce. LI-SA1 Responsibilities Environmental assessment and constraints mapping of projects in the development of design and during delivery managing/supervising environmental specialist inputs advising on designs to minimise environmental impacts & providing project programme estimates for consents, permits, assents and licences. liaising with environmental regulators supporting planning submissions Qualifications An undergraduate and secondary environmental (or related) degree (or equivalent level of experience) Ability to communicate to varied audiences (verbal and written) An understanding of civil engineering infrastructure projects
