Job title: Attendance Welfare Officer
Grade and salary: Grade 5: Actual salary £14,145 - £15,115 per annum (£30,559 - £32,654 FTE).
Working pattern: 20 hours per week, 39 working weeks per year (Term time plus INSET days)
Contract term: Fixed term contract – 1 year

The role:
The role will work with families, external agencies and colleagues to respond to, support, and implement student and family engagement strategies as part of the early help offer, which in turn enable the barriers faced by young people to achieving positive attendance patterns at school to be overcome.
This is a key role, supporting students who are experiencing difficulties with their attendance and punctuality. Experience of implementing student and family engagement to improve attendance is essential.
Please note: The role is for 20 hours per week working 10am until 2pm Monday to Friday.
The person:
The successful applicant will have experience of working with young people in a variety of settings and with vulnerable families / young people who experience challenging circumstances. To secure the role you will need to understand the barriers to learning and attending school which are faced by young people and how they can be overcome.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is required.
