Libertatem Healthcare are seeking to recruit experienced female spinal injury support workers to work with our client living in Prestbury, who has sustained a spinal injury.
*Due to our client’s needs at this time, we are looking for female applicants who hold a Full UK driving licence only.*
Our client has a spinal injury and requires full support assisting with bowel, bladder, personal care, and moving and handling tasks.
Hours:
Live-in position
1 week on, 2 weeks off.
Responsibilities:
As part of the support team, you will be responsible for assisting with:
* Supporting our client in remaining as independent as possible
* Providing personalised support in a confidential and sensitive manner whilst remaining professional at all times
* Understanding and following care plans
* Remaining in regular contact with the Care Coordinator and Clinical Lead Nurse
* Participating in monitoring and reviewing the client's care plans and risk assessments
* Attending quarterly team meetings
* Working professionally with all members of the client's multidisciplinary team and any other health professionals involved
* Assisting with mobility, feeding, washing, bathing, and dressing
* Management of neurogenic bladder and bowel care
* Assistance with domestic care tasks such as laundry, ironing, and household cleaning
* Preparation of food and drinks, kitchen cleaning and hygiene, assistance with shopping and menu planning
* Assisting Service Users to attend appointments, go shopping, collect pensions, etc.
* Providing emotional support to increase the Service User's confidence and motivation
* Assisting with the use of moving and handling equipment
* Monitoring skin integrity and ensuring any changes are noted and raised with the clinical lead
* Administering medication as designated in the care and support plan
* Assisting Service Users with rehabilitation activities as directed by the care and support plan
* Delivering support sensitive to the service user's culture, disability, race, age, sexuality, marital status, transgender status, or religion/belief
* Documenting clearly in daily records on the progress of rehabilitation programmes
Training & Background Checks:
An enhanced DBS check & full training will be provided prior to commencing work with our client, and you will also be supported by our clinical lead nurse for the area.
